She has been employed by the City of
Atchison for 32 years. HistoryThe Human Resources Department is responsible for providing direction and leadership in personnel matters. The Human Resources Department oversees the personnel system for the City. The responsibilities include maintaining wage and salary administration programs, maintaining employee records, safety administration, employee relations, and screening and hiring of personnel. The Human Resources department ensures that all programs; personnel policies and procedures comply with Federal, State and local laws governing personnel practices. The department also assists all personnel in the interpretation and application of personnel policies and procedures. The Human Resources Department ensures that the Human Resource functions are administered in a fair and equitable manner as established by the City Commission, Local, State and Federal laws, and the City’s personnel policies. The Human Resources Department conducts and coordinates training and seminars regarding safety, communication, drug and alcohol awareness, update of policies, procedures, guidelines, benefits and other training programs that benefit the organization and employees.
