The Police Department is located in City Hall at 515 Kansas Avenue, Atchison, Kansas 66002.

Emergency calls are received via a 911 system located in the Atchison County Communications Center located at the Atchison County Jail Facility. Non-emergency calls are received by the Communications Center at 913-367-4323.

Administrative calls are received at the Police Department at 913-367-5525 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.

Consisting of Chief, Lieutenant, Sergeants, Corporals, Detectives, Patrol Officers.

One full time civilian office manager.

As of December 31, 1999, the average length of service for present twenty three officers was 8 1/2 years.

Hiring process consists of written test, physical agility, oral interview, background investigation, psychological examination, and physical examinations.
