Utilities - Automatic Bank Draft Payment

Your utility bill may now be paid by an automatic bank draft. This will eliminate the worries of paying your bill late. Simply fill out the application, attach a deposit slip and return to “City of Atchison, Utility Department, 515 Kansas Ave, Atchison, KS 66002”. Your checking or savings account will be drafted the day before your bill is due and applied directly to your utility account.

Terms and Conditions:

The following terms and conditions have been set and enforced by the City of Atchison Finance Department:

  • You, the account holder, will have your monthly utility bill automatically withdrawn from your checking/savings account the day before your bill is due. We will continue to mail you a statement that shows the amount and the due date in which the payment will be deducted.
  • You, the account holder, may designate an amount that your automatic withdraw can not exceed due to an abnormal utility bill. You will need to contact the Utility office at 367-5500 within 10 days of receiving your statement to report an abnormality.
  • If your automatic withdrawal is returned due to insufficient funds, your account will be charged for the amount of your monthly bill, in addition to a fee of $5.00, that is nonrefundable. At that time, you will be contacted by the Utility office to inform you of the insufficient funds. You will need to come to the Utility office and make that monthly payment.
  • The automatic payment authorization may be terminated at any time by you, the account holder, your financial institution, or the City of Atchison. The termination must be in writing and done 10 days prior to the due date.
These terms and conditions will remain in affect until such notice is given to the account holder.
